Why is CrashPlan sending backup status emails after cancellation?

Question

Why am I receiving backup status emails from CrashPlan after I've cancelled my subscription, and how do I stop them?

Answer

If you didn't turn off reporting for your CrashPlan backups before cancelling, your account will continue emailing Organization Backup status report and Backup alerts report until it is deactivated. When your subscription is cancelled, the account remains active for a brief data retention period.

To disable further Reporting emails, follow the step below.

  1. Sign in to the CrashPlan console.
  2. Select Administration > Environment > Organizations to open your Org.
  3. Click the action menu settings-gear-console.png and choose Edit.
  4. Open the Reporting tab.
  5. Deselect Send backup report
  6. Click Save.

Disable individual device reports

  2. Go to Administration > Devices to open your device.
  3. Click the action menu settings-gear-console.png and choose Edit.
  4. Open the Reporting tab.
  5. Deselect Send backup report and Send backup alert.
Click the Lock button to unlock the setting if This is a read-only setting is displayed.
