How to start your CrashPlan free trial

Objective

This article explains how to sign up for a fully-functional, 14-day free trial of CrashPlan's Endpoint or Microsoft 365 backup solutions. You can test the setup, management, and recovery of your organization's Endpoint or Microsoft 365 data before committing.

Prerequisites

  • Organization size: This self-service trial is intended for organizations with up to 249 employees. If you have 250 or more employees, contact sales for a personalized quote and enterprise demo.
  • For Endpoints: Make sure your client devices meet the CrashPlan app system requirements.
  • For Microsoft 365: You must have a Microsoft 365 Business, Enterprise, or Education subscription. Additionally, you must have Global Administrator access to your Microsoft 365 tenant to configure the backup environment.
  • Payment method: A payment method is required to start your free trial. Your trial will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the end of the 14-day period if not cancelled before the end of the trial.

Procedure

Step 1: Choose your product

  1. In a web browser, go to our CrashPlan Trial page. 
  2. Click Start Trial in the column of the desired product.

Step 2: Enter your information

  1. Enter your information for all fields: name, email, company name, country, and postal code.
  2. Click Continue.

Step 3: Checkout

  1. Select your subscription billing cycle.
  2. Select the number of licenses to purchase.
  3. Enter your payment details.
    There may be additional steps depending on the payment method used (e.g. Credit card vs PayPal).
  4. Click Start your free trial to complete the process.

Step 4: Next steps

After you start the trial, you'll receive two emails:

  • A receipt from our payment processor, Paddle.
  • A welcome email with instructions to complete the set up of your account.
