Each matter records a timeline of the events CrashPlan captured for it. This article covers how to view that timeline, which events appear, and what the record does not include.
Before you begin
Viewing legal hold activity requires the following.
- This procedure requires the Org Legal Admin or Cross Org Legal Admin role.
- The matter must already exist.
View the activity for a matter
Each legal hold matter records its own activity timeline.
- Sign in to the CrashPlan console.
- Select Legal Hold > Matters.
- Select the name of the matter.
- Select Activity.
The timeline shows each event with its date and time.
Events recorded
- Matter created, when the matter is created.
- Matter closed, when the matter is closed and its custodians are released.
- Matter reactivated, when a closed matter is reactivated.
- Custodian added, when a user is added to the matter.
- Custodian released, when a custodian is released from the matter.
- Custodian reactivated, when a released custodian is reactivated.
- Files collected, when files are collected from a custodian.
File collection appears on the timeline 24 hours after the collection. Every other event appears immediately. The names of collected files are not recorded.
Exporting activity
The Activity screen is the complete record of legal hold activity available in the CrashPlan console, and the console provides no export. To build an export, or to include legal hold activity in a wider report, use the LegalHold resource of the CrashPlan API. See Tools for interacting with the CrashPlan API.
