Question
My subscription has been renewed for a different dollar amount or quantity than I expected, why has the cost changed?
Answer
If the cost of your subscription has automatically changed, it's likely that your subscription has automatically adjusted based on the number of licenses you’re using.
CrashPlan for Small Business and CrashPlan for MSPs subscriptions are based on the number of active device shown in the CrashPlan console. Your subscription automatically updates 48 hours prior to the next billing date if devices have been added and removed during the billing cycle. At the beginning of each billing cycle, your card is automatically charged.
If you didn’t expect your subscription cost to increase, compare the number of active devices shown in the CrashPlan console to the number of purchased licenses and deactivate any unwanted devices. CrashPlan for MSPs administrators should also check cold storage to ensure there are no old archives still using a license.
Check your active devices
- Sign in to the CrashPlan console.
- Select Administration > Environment > Devices.
-
Compare the number of devices shown to the number of licenses purchased on your renewal.
During a device replacement, an additional device will temporarily appear on the account, this temporary device will be automatically removed when the replacement steps are completed.
- Deactivate unwanted devices to remove them from the account. Your subscription will automatically update at the next renewal.
