Updates to CrashPlan supported operating systems and web browsers

This recap summarizes changes to supported operating systems and web browsers over the last quarter. This information is accurate as of September 14, 2022. 

With few exceptions, CrashPlan endpoint software supports operating systems through the end of an operating system vendor’s extended support date.

Please ensure that you are updating your operating systems to remain on supported versions.

Planned support

CrashPlan support for macOS Ventura

On June 6, 2022, Apple announced the upcoming release of their desktop Mac operating system macOS Ventura. CrashPlan will support macOS Ventura within 30 days following release. 

After the release of macOS Ventura, we will discontinue support for macOS 10.15 Catalina in alignment with our operating system support policy as detailed on the CrashPlan support site.

Windows 10 22H2 and Windows 11 22H2

Targeting support with app versions released in Q4 2022.

Upcoming end of support 

These operating systems are approaching end of support on endpoint devices running the CrashPlan app:

  • macOS 10.15 Catalina: Anticipated end of support Q4 2022
  • Windows 10 21H1: End of support December 13, 2022
  • Windows 8.1: End of support January 13, 2023
  • Ubuntu 18.04: End of support April 2023
  • Windows 10 20H2: End of support May 9, 2023

Recently unsupported

These operating systems are no longer supported on endpoint devices running the CrashPlan app:

  • Windows 10 Version 1909: End of support May 10, 2022
