Objective
This article describes how to change your existing CrashPlan account password or request a password reset if you have forgotten your current password.
Prerequisites
- Local Authentication: This procedure only applies to users who authenticate directly through the CrashPlan console. If your organization uses single sign-on (SSO) or LDAP, you cannot change your password with the CrashPlan console. Contact your system administrator to update your SSO/LDAP credentials.
Procedure
Changing your password (if your current password is known)
Use these steps to update your password from within the CrashPlan console.
- Sign in to the CrashPlan console.
- Hover over the Account menu icon
in the upper-right corner.
- Click on your name to navigate to your user details.
- Click the action menu
.
- Select Edit.
- Enter your old password, new password, and re-enter your new password.
- Click Update User.
Resetting a forgotten password
Use this procedure if you cannot sign in to your account and need to reset your password via email.
- Open a web browser and navigate to the password reset page for your cloud region or environment:
- United States (US1) & MSP: https://console.us1.crashplan.com/login/#/forgot_password
- United States (US2) & Small Business: https://console.us2.crashplan.com/login/#/forgot_password
- Ireland (EU5): https://console.eu5.cpg.crashplan.com/login/#/forgot_password
- Enter your email address.
- Click Reset Password.
- Check your email and follow the password reset instructions provided in the message.
