Adding a cloud backup destination

Objective

This article describes how to add the CrashPlan cloud as a destination for your backup set.

You should perform this task if your organization does not automatically start cloud backups and you want to back up your files to the CrashPlan cloud, or if a cloud destination was previously removed from your backup set.

Prerequisites

  • Your organization must have cloud destinations unlocked in its backup settings. If you do not see any available cloud destinations, contact your CrashPlan administrator.

Procedure

  1. Open the CrashPlan app.

  2. Navigate to Settings > Backup Sets.

  3. Next to Destinations, click Change.

  4. Select the check box for an available CrashPlan cloud destination.
    The destination name may vary based on your account type and organization. Example destination names include PROe Cloud, US, CrashPlan Central, and CrashPlan PRO Online, among others.

  5. Click Save.
    The CrashPlan app will begin backing up to the cloud destination immediately.
