CrashPlan app version 12.0.0 introduces new file conflict options for restores, adds support for Ubuntu 26, updates core security components, and resolves stability, memory, and pathing issues across Mac, Windows, and Linux.

Enhancements and updates

  • New restore options: Added new options for handling file conflicts when restoring, giving you more control over how existing files are handled at the destination.
    • New options:
      • Do not restore the file
      • Protect my newer files – skip newer
      • Protect my older files – skip older

  • Security updates: Updated core platform components and resolved all known security vulnerabilities.
  • Ubuntu 26 support: Added support for Ubuntu 26.

Bug fixes

  • Mac memory: Fixed a memory consumption issue on Mac.
  • Windows pathing: Fixed a pathing issue on Windows.
  • Restore stability: Fixed several reliability and stability issues to improve the restore experience.
  • Backup and file scan: Fixed backup and file scan issues to ensure they complete accurately.
  • Windows and Linux stability: Fixed stability and compatibility issues for Windows and Linux platforms.
  • Display and localization: Fixed various display and localization issues across platforms.

Release rollout schedule
Endpoints will gradually receive client upgrades over the course of two weeks from the release date. Delayed client upgrade exceptions still apply, and administrators can delay this upgrade for up to 60 days by configuring a global delay or organization exception.
