Unable to save Exclude Metered Networks setting in console

Objective

This article walks you through the workaround to update the Exclude Metered Networks setting when it won't save in the CrashPlan console.

Prerequisites

  • An admin logged into the CrashPlan Console with either the Org Admin or Customer Cloud Admin (CCA) role
  • Updating the Exclude Metered Networks setting does not save.

Procedure

To get the Exclude Metered or Low Data Networks setting to update:

  1. Login to the CrashPlan console and select Administration > Organizations > Device Backup Defaults > Edit > Backup.
     If backup sets are enabled, it will instead show Backup Sets instead of Backup.
  2. Unlock lock_icon_04Mar2020.png Backup Will Run.
  3. Push the setting update to other devices Push_Icon-500-source.png.
  4. Save backup settings.
  5. Open the Network tab in the same Device Backup Defaults menu.
  6. Change Exclude Metered or Low Data Networks to Yes.
  7. Push Push_Icon-500-source.png the change of "Metered or low data network?" to devices and Save.
