CrashPlan app version 11.4.1

Bug fixes

Fixed an issue where upgrading to CrashPlan app version 11.4.0 would fail when the CrashPlan application is installed at the user level.

Enhancements and updates

Unified CrashPlan app

Starting in version 11.4.0, all CrashPlan product plans will use a single unified version of the CrashPlan app. Previously, some product plans - such as CrashPlan for Small Business - had unique installation packages and would not work if the wrong version of the app was installed. This change will also make it easier for customers to move between product packages without requiring a reconfiguration of their environment.

Other

  • Logging improvements.
  • UI text enhancements.
  • Security updates
  • Performance improvements.

Bug fixes

Fixed issues where:

  • Attempting to attach a local CrashPlan archive on a Windows device could fail.
  • CrashPlan app shortcuts on Windows could point to the wrong location and fail to launch the app.
  • Restarting the CrashPlan service on Windows would cause the backup engine to crash and fail to restart.
  • The CrashPlan app would force an upgrade on unsupported Linux operating systems. While we suggest running CrashPlan only on supported operating systems, this fix ensures that the CrashPlan authority will not forcibly break unsupported configurations.
  • A failed CrashPlan app upgrade on Linux would not restart the CrashPlan service, leaving the installation in a broken state.
