Understanding Tips, Warnings, And Alerts

The Code42 support site uses tips, warnings, and alerts to set certain information apart from procedural steps and descriptions. Examples of each are included below.


A tip contains useful shortcuts or helpful hints. 

An Example Tip
Tips provide helpful information. 


A warning describes a limitation, consideration, or potential for error. You should read all the information inside a warning. 

An Example Warning
​Warnings indicate you should proceed with caution. 


An alert describes critical information about processes that may cause you to lose data or cause bodily harm. It is crucial that you read all information inside an alert before proceeding.

An Example Alert
Alerts indicate you should stop and carefully consider the information before moving forward.
