Enabling iOS Backups To CrashPlan Central

Overview

Apple devices, such as iPhones, Pads, or iPods, create iOS backup files with iTunes when you plug them into your computer. The CrashPlan app backs up these iOS files locally by default. In order to send these backups to CrashPlan Central, users must contact a Customer Champion.

Diagnosing

To identify if your iOS backup is excluded from a cloud backup:

  1. Open the CrashPlan app.
  2. Click Backup > Files > Change.
  3. Click Show Hidden Files.
  4. Navigate to your user library folder in Finder:
    ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/
  5. If you see a warning symbol, your iOS Backups are only being backed up locally.
