Retirement of Windows XP and Windows Vista

Beginning with version 5.0.1 of the Code42 platform, released in October 2015, Windows XP and Windows Vista are no longer supported operating systems for the CrashPlan app and Code42 server.

This means:

  • Computers running Windows XP and Windows Vista will not receive automatic upgrades to version 5.0.1 or later of the CrashPlan app and Code42 server.
  • Our Customer Champion team can no longer guarantee assistance with issues arising from use of version 5.0.1 and later of the CrashPlan app and Code42 server on Windows XP and Windows Vista.
  • Code42 cannot guarantee that version 5.0.1 or later of the CrashPlan app and Code42 server will operate without issues on Windows XP and Windows Vista.

Customers can continue to use the 4.x versions of the CrashPlan app and Code42 server on Windows XP and Windows Vista until Code42 chooses to end support for the 4.x series software. For more information, review our Product Lifecycle Policy.
