Subscription Renewal Error

Overview

An active CrashPlan for Home subscription is required if you are backing up to CrashPlan Central. This article describes what to expect if a subscription renewal fails.

How renewals work

If you have the auto-renewal option enabled, then we attempt to automatically renew subscriptions on the date they are set to expire. This way, there is no interruption to your continuous backup.

If we cannot authorize payment from your billing information on file, we send you an email alerting you that there was a problem with your renewal. We recommend updating your billing information as soon as you receive an error email. Our payment system attempts to renew your subscription automatically once every 24 hours for the next six days. If your subscription expires, your files are retained according to our backup retention policy.

Recommended solution

If you receive a renewal error notice, update your billing information. If you update your billing information and continue to receive errors, please contact our Customer Champions for assistance as soon as possible.
