Purchased CrashPlan for Home Subscription But Cannot Sign In

Overview

If you purchased a subscription, but cannot sign in to the CrashPlan app, you most likely need to create an account. Purchasing a subscription ties the subscription to your email address. However, you still need to create a new account from the CrashPlan app.

Considerations

  • If you purchase a subscription before creating a CrashPlan account, then you miss out on the free 30-day trial
  • Subscriptions begin the day of purchase

Recommended solution

You can create a new account when you open the CrashPlan app for the first time.

  1. Download the CrashPlan app.
  2. Install the CrashPlan app.
  3. From the account screen, select New Account.
  4. Create your account.
  5. From Settings > Account, enter your new license key.
  6. From Backup, click Start Backup to begin backing up.
