This article answers several questions about pricing and data centre locations for CrashPlan customers in Australia and New Zealand.

FAQs

Can I back up to data centres in Australia?

Yes. As of 4 August 2012, new users from Australian locations are automatically assigned to our data centres in Australia.

How can I tell if I'm backing up to an Australian data centre?

All computers backing up to Australian data centres display CrashPlan Australia under Destinations > Online.

Can customers backing up to US data centers change to Australian data centres?

Yes. If you are in Australia or New Zealand and you started backing up prior to 4 August 2012 (to US data centers), you can start new backups to Australian data centres. There is no migration path for any existing backup data.

To start backing up to our Australian data centres, you must assign your computer a new ID.

What payment options do you offer?

You can choose to pay with Visa or Mastercard.

Can I purchase subscriptions for multi-year plans?

No. We offer monthly and 1-year subscriptions in Australia and New Zealand.

Why the big price difference between Australia and US offerings?

Even though our operating costs in Australia are significantly higher than they are in the US, we are absorbing some of the increased cost to make us more in line with similar products.

I have already purchased a plan through the US store. What price do I pay to renew?

If you have already purchased a plan through the US store, we'll continue to honor renewals of that plan at the US renewal prices.
