Setting Backup Frequency

The Backup Frequency setting determines how often CrashPlan backs up a new version of your files.

Considerations

  • Although CrashPlan is designed to work without slowing down your computer, increasing the frequency of new versions does cause CrashPlan to work harder and you might detect a change in performance.
  • You need to have the “watch in real-time” setting enabled so that CrashPlan can scan for and flag changes.
  • Only CrashPlan+ users can increase the backup frequency to more than once a day.

How It Works: Choose a Backup Frequency

Backup Frequency

  1. Choose Settings.
  2. Click Backup.
In CrashPlan+ you can adjust the backup frequency for each backup set on the Backup Sets tab.
  3. Click Backup frequency and versions > Configure…
  4. In the Backup Frequency and Versioning Settings dialog box, move the slider to a new backup frequency.
  5. Click Ok.
  6. Click Save.
