FAQ: Installing and Uninstalling

Back to FAQ main

Can I move or rename CrashPlan.app on Mac?

No. The CrashPlan application must be named CrashPlan.app and must reside in Applications.

How do I Uninstall CrashPlan?

  • Mac OSX: Open the installer.dmg file and run the uninstaller.
  • Windows: Use Add/remove programs.
  • Linux: Run the uninstaller shell script that comes in the installer package.

Will CrashPlan run on FreeBSD?

No. The current version relies on interaction with some native libraries/code which is not currently supported on the FreeBSD platform. We're attempting to relax that restriction in our next release. At this time, there are no plans to add FreeBSD as a supported platform or support CrashPlan on FreeBSD in any way.
